We are welcoming not only another summer month, but another Athlete of the Month. Coming in hot just like August did, we would like to congratulate…. Jason Wilkinson π₯ππ₯
Jason has been with us for 4 years and has made a positive change to his mental health along with his physical health. Right now, he is participating in our 21 day challenge and loved our 800 Gram challenge so much, he does his best to fit this into his daily routine as well. Read more about Jason below.

π How long have you been with Tides and what made you decide to start?
β 4 years ago I decided to just make a bunch of positive life changes during a week off of work. Walking into Tides and joining was one of them.
π What were your thoughts after your first WOD?
β I still remember it, I felt accomplishment but I was glad it was over. I felt like I didn’t have enough blood in my body.
π What is your favorite/least favorite WOD/movements?
β Most: Double Unders, Deadlift, Bike/Run. Least: Thrusters
π What have you learned since joining Tides?
βI suck at thrusters….and…. a lot about mental resilience, nutrition, general health and wellness.
π What is your proudest moment at Tides, or something you accomplished that you never thought you would do?
β Through participating in some of the gym programs, I’ve eaten 800g of fruits and veggies for two months, taken up meditation and participated in a crossfit open.
π What motivates you during a tough workout?
βFear of being last π but, usually my brain stops recording and I just focus on finishing.
π How have you seen yourself change- mentally and physically since joining Tides?
β Itβs been 4 years and Iβm definitely stronger and more fit than I was prior. I tend to think more about what I would be like now (in my 40βs) if I had never joined. Scary.
π What impact has CFT had on you in and out of the gym?
β Very positive. I have better life habits in general and a much more positive and confident outlook on life. Iβm setting a better example for my kids as they know Iβm headed to the gym most mornings.
π Do you have any advice for people just getting started at Tides?
β Go at your own pace and focus on form and recovery. You do what you can do and that is the most important.
π When you’re not working out, what is your favorite thing to do?
β Hang out with the family, or tour our Michigan breweries.
