Later May and HELLO June!

Wahoo! We have worked our way through May, and now we are into the month of June. We would like to announce our new Athlete of the Month…Priscila Giacomini 💕💃💕 She has proven that the hard work pays off and has kept up an amazing job during this little bump in the road. Pri (as we all know her by) has been such a positive influence for ALL of us in our Fusion Family and she always makes our day with her fun power poses. ☀️ Tell us about yourself.

🌊 I am from Brazil and moved to St Joe in 2013 where I am living in the are since then. I Graduated with a Master in Electrial Engineer (yes, I am a little nerd).

I consider myself a very positive person, I always trying to see the good side of everything and everyone. I have a good sense of humor and like to tease everyone, so please dont get offended 🙂

☀️ How long have you been with CrossFit Tides and what made you decide to start?

🌊 I started Tides in April 2019. My decision to start at Tides was the proximity of work and the possibility to workout during lunch time (what always worked great for me), but the amazing coaches and great community made me stay and not want to leave.

☀️ What were your thoughts after your first WOD?

🌊 Thoughts? I barely could breath… After I came back to life I thought “wow.. this is really challenging. I like it”

☀️ What do you enjoy most about Tides or CrossFit in general?

🌊 Tides: I love the coaches, the community and how supportive everyone is.

Crossfit: I love the lack of routine with the workouts everyday and the possibility to scale or make the same workout even worse. The motivation to improve my form and results everyday. Its pretty exciting!

☀️ What have you learned since joining Tides?

🌊 That those professional crossfiters are not human! 😅😅 Jokes apart, you can always improve. That small detail makes all difference on execute a movement. And also to be more patient with myself.

☀️ What is your proudest CrossFit moment?

🌊 Deadlift almost #200 pounds and my first RX workout (thanks Brian!)

☀️ How have you seen yourself change- mentally and physically since joining Tides? What impact has CFT had on you in and out of the gym?

🌊 I see myself in a better shape – mentally and physically. Even this quarantine period, the old me would not be enough motivate to workout everyday, and now, thats the most exciting part of my day.

☀️ When you’re not CrossFitting what is your favorite thing to do?

🌊 I love to be outdoor (when weather permit). Biking, beach volleyball, hiking with my kiddo. I also love to cook and try new recipes.

☀️ What type of music have you been playing during your at-home workouts?

🌊 Alexa is my DJ. I just ask ” Alexa play workout music” and she does the selection 😁🎶🤸‍♀️🏋️‍♀️

☀️ What has been your secret to being consistent and staying motivated while working out at home? You’re such an inspiration!! 🙂

🌊 I think the secret to stay motivated is the results I am seeing on myself. I see changes on my body and also on my mood. You don’t want to be around me when I can’t workout 🤣 We all get that way and need that stress relief!

☀️ Anything else you’d like to share?

🌊 I am shy at first. I don’t like to speak in public. And I am missing my CrossFit family a ton!!!!
